Chromebooks are capable of accessing cellular networks so you can watch videos, play games, or be productive virtually anywhere. The devices are portable and can be used almost anywhere within the continental United States.

Borrower assumes full responsibility for the cost of repair/replacement if the Chromebook is lost, stolen or damaged. Borrower agrees to Henderson Libraries Internet Service Policy. 

Funding for the Chromebooks provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

    • Who can borrow a Chromebook?

      Anyone with a Henderson Library card in good standing (with less than $6.00 in fines) is allowed to check out a Chromebook. You are limited to checking out/requesting one (1) Chromebook at a time.

    • Where can I borrow a Chromebook?

      You can borrow a Chromebook at any Henderson location. If your location does not have a Chromebook currently available, you may place a request to hold a Chromebook just like other borrowable materials from the library.

    • How long can I check out a Chromebook?

      The loan period is seven (7) days, and can be renewed up to five (5) times, as long as there no one waiting on hold for it.

      Please Note: Wireless service will be discontinued if the Chromebook is overdue.

    • Is my data saved on the Chromebook?

      All data will be lost when Chromebook is powered off or logged off--save all work to the cloud or an external drive.

    • What comes in a Chromebook kit?

      Each WiFi hotspot kit contains:

      • 1 case
      • 1 Chromebook w/ built in WiFi Hotspot
      • 1 charging cable and wall plug cable
      • 1 USB-C to USB cable
      • 1 wall charger

      Chromebooks must be returned with all parts, including the case.

    • What happens if I lose a part in the Chromebook kit?

      Missing parts will result in the following fees:

      • Chromebook only replacement cost: $200.00
      • Case only replacement cost: $35.00
      • Cable only replacement cost: $4.00
      • Power brick only replacement cost: $15.00
      • Entire item Replacement cost: $235.00
