On Our Website
Public Libraries have long served their communities as welcoming, open, and inclusive built environments. As a digital service provider to public libraries, we know that the online experience we create needs to be welcoming and inclusive to people with a wide range of abilities. This includes those who rely on assistive technology to access online services, in addition to individuals with cognitive and digital-literacy challenges.
An important part of our commitment to those using assistive technology includes the implementation of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA.
Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance
Henderson Libraries fully complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and provides accommodations by request for physical access, communications or other needs that ensure our services, activities and employment are available to people with disabilities.

In the Libby App:
Screen Reader Compatibility and Site Navigation
Some of Libby's navigation currently works with screen readers. We're hard at work to release a screen reader-friendly version that supports iOS's VoiceOver and Android's Talkback.
If you need more accessibility features than Libby currently offers, we recommend the Kindle Book option (U.S. only), using the Libby app.
Change the Text Size in a eBook
In a book, tap the center of the screen, then the letter A . From there, drag the "Text scale" slider to change the size of the text.
For a wider range of text sizes, toggle Include accessibility sizes on.
Turn On the Dyslexic Font in a Book
In a book, tap the center of the screen, then the Letter A. From there, tap OpenDyslexic under "Book Design."
Reading in Sepia or Night Mode
In a book, tap the center of the screen, then the Letter A. From there, select Sepia or Dark under "Lighting."
Note: If your device is in dark mode, the reader in Libby will automatically use the dark theme, unless you manually change it to Bright or Sepia.
