Henderson Libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 28th & Friday, November 29th
Everyday habits and commonplace occurrences may appear as mundane realities or menial, and therefore deficient raw material for writing poems. Yet, upon closer inspection, there is sometimes a quiet opportunity for wonder, a sudden recognition, or a glimpse at the ineffable to be found there. Join Elizabeth Quiñones-Zaldaña for a poetry workshop that will explore this potential. We will read poems, discuss what we find, and spend time writing.
Elizabeth Quiñones-Zaldaña is a southern Nevada writer and educator. She leads poetry and art workshops in her local community. Her poems have been published in Sagebrush to Sandstone: A Humanities Guide to Outdoor Nevada, Nevada Public Radio’s Desert Companion, 300 Days of Sun, and is forthcoming in The Book of Life After Death: Essays & Poems. Her poetry collection, Bougainvillea, is available through Tolsun Books.
This program is part of our Poetry Palooza series celebrating National Poetry Month.
