The Nevada Test Site, now known as the Nevada National Security Site, was home to 928 nuclear weapons tests from 1951 to 1992. Only 60 miles northwest of Las Vegas, the site had a huge impact on the rapid growth of the city. Specifics about each test are easy to find, but what about the wacky, the wild, and the downright weird stories of the Nevada Test Site? That's where Joseph Kent, Director of Education for the National Atomic Testing Museum, comes in. During his presentation, he will weave tales about irradiated ashtrays, atomic livestock, and much more.
