Enjoy a demonstration of Indian classical music and learn about some traditional instruments, including the sitar and tabla! For all ages. Space is limited.

While Indian classical music originated in South Asia, it can now be found all around the world. Presenter Sandip Thanki will give you a brief introduction to the sitar (a traditional string instrument) and tabla (a set of a treble and a dynamic bass drums), highlight key characteristics of this genre of music, and perform some songs for you!

This program is part of One Book, One Henderson, our community-wide book club featuring the novel "The Henna Artist" by Alka Joshi.
