Henderson Libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 28th & Friday, November 29th
Chetna is a leading henna artist in the Las Vegas Valley with over 45 years of experience from skills developed in India, where mehndi (henna tattoo) is first known to have originated. Her art is done freehand.
Henna is a dye made from the henna plant and is used in creating intricate ethnic or contemporary designs and exotic patterns on various parts of the body, though traditionally it is applied to the hands and feet of women preparing for special ceremonies. Henna is used as a blessing to remind people of the happiness life holds.
This program is part of One Book, One Henderson, our community-wide book club featuring the novel "The Henna Artist" by Alka Joshi.
