Crafting for a Cause

Crafting for a Cause

During this annual program, library patrons can pick up a free skein of yarn and project pattern to use in crafting a knitted item for someone in our community who could benefit from a gesture of kindness. Items can be a scarf, hat, mittens, blanket, shawl, etc.

The deadline to submit completed projects is Saturday, November 19th at 5pm. Projects can be dropped off at either the Gibson Library or Paseo Verde Library.

Please note: We are NOT accepting any donations of yarn or knitting supplies.

In 2021, we were able to donate 479 completed pieces, including hats, headbands scarves, sweaters for children, blankets, mittens, and arm warmers.  These items were distributed to the following local groups:
  • Henderson Vet Center
  • The Lullaby Connection
  • St. Timothy's Episcopal Church
