Maya

Hi!

My name is Maya! In case you haven’t noticed I’m a dog. No one knows my birthdate since I was adopted from the Henderson Animal Shelter. But, my adoption date was December of 2010. That was such a great day! Hey! How old are you? I’m a six year old English Shepherd. Shepherds are working dogs; we help farmers keep track of their animals. That’s probably why I like to herd sheep. It’s really fun! At home I live with a black border collie named, Pippin!

My favorite food is carrots! I LOVE carrots! How about you? Some of my favorite things to do is playing with my “angry birds” squeaky toy or going for a run in the desert. When mom says, “we are going for a run in the desert,” I get so excited I spin around in a circle really fast. Does your mom make you take a bath? Mine does! I don’t like them!

Reading with Rover Maya

I earned my Canine Good Citizen (think doggie college diploma) and I became a therapy dog in the spring of 2011. I enjoy visiting the Nevada State Veteran’s Home in Boulder City with mom, and I belong to Henderson Libraries Reading with Rover team. I love meeting new kids! I can’t wait to meet you and be your reading buddy!
