Reading with Rover
Jordan

Hi,

My name is Jordan!

I’m a dog, but not just any dog. I am a beautiful and very smart (I have two PetsMart diplomas and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate to prove it) English Springer Spaniel. My birthday
is November 30 and, in addition to being a Reading with Rover dog for Henderson Libraries, I have also volunteered at Child Haven, LifeCare Center, Cleveland Clinic and elementary schools.

I love visiting with people and my canine friends each morning at Paradise Park. My mom adopted me when I was 10 months old and she loves me very much. Because I almost died from parvovirus when I was four months old, she makes sure that I always get my vaccinations on time. I really love to play with my Kong toy and drop it down the stairs so that the treats fall out! (When I am feeling bad to the bone, I go into the bathroom and unwind the toilet paper-big fun!) Every night, my teeth are brushed before I go to bed. Do you brush your teeth each night?

Reading with Rover Jordan

During the summer, I love to travel with my parents! I went to a wedding in Wyoming, a hotel in Napa Valley and a condo on the sand in Seal Beach. Chasing seagulls is one of my hobbies! The ocean air makes my ears curl. One of my favorite places to go is our cabin in Utah. It is cooler there and I love to run after the deer in the winter, I wear my boots! You should see me run in them!

In February of 2010, I met former President George W. Bush. He told me that he had a springer named Ranger, who was born in the White House! Later that year, I met California’s First Lady, Maria Shriver; she was in Las Vegas filming a documentary. I received an award on stage in October 2011 at the Volunteer Appreciation Lunch at the Cleveland Clinic. The award was edible from a dog bakery-yum! This was a busy month for me as my first radio interview aired on KNPR FM for Reading with Rover on October 17. If you Google, “Jordan Achrem,” you will find me on several webs sites!

By the way, I really love kids! Wow, I hear that you will be reading to me. You are in luck as I really love hearing stories. When we are done reading, I would love to do a few tricks for you. I can’t wait to show you my library bark…

Licks and Wags,
Jordan
