Library Rules of Conduct

  1. Conduct that disturbs library users or staff, or that hinders others from entering and using the library or library materials is prohibited.
  2. Damage, destruction or theft of library property is prohibited. Parents are liable for all acts of minors. (NRS 379.160 and 41.470).
  3. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for the safety and conduct of their minor children at all times.
  4. While in the library all children 10 years old and younger must be supervised by a caregiver who can ensure their safety and appropriate conduct.
  5. Any person creating or emanating a detectable odor that disturbs other patrons or staff will be asked to leave the library until the situation is corrected.
  6. Shoes and shirts must be worn in the library. Patrons who fail to follow this policy will be asked to leave.
  7. The following are prohibited on library property:
  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes), outside of designated areas.
  • Drunkenness, and consumption of, or possession of, alcohol.
  • Sleeping.
  • Selling, solicitation, and panhandling.
  • Animals, except handicapped aide animals and certified therapy animals.
  • The use of roller skates, roller blades, scooters, skate boards, and other sports equipment.
  • Weapons.
  • Profanity.
  • Fighting.
